About Your
Anxiety Coach

Hello, fellow traveler!

I’m Tayler Gowan, your Anxiety Coach. Certified as a Life Coach through the Life Purpose Institute in July of 2020, I help people end the struggle with anxiety and create the life they truly want.

I earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology from Indiana University - Purdue University of Indianapolis (IUPUI) in May of 2019. In addition to working with my coaching clients, I work as a consultant on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy/Training research studies at Indiana University. My husband, poodle, and I currently live in Indianapolis, IN, USA.

My passion is working with, learning from, listening to, and helping people.

Every road I’ve gone down in my life has led me to helping roles; I’ve served customers in restaurants, cared for people’s precious dogs, provided therapy to dementia caregivers and adolescents and their families, and served meals to people without homes. I firmly believe that everyone is doing their best in life with the skills, resources, and knowledge they possess. We are not broken - sometimes we simply get stuck and need help from those who can help us see what we cannot yet see.

I know how hard it can be to ask for and find help.

No one achieves anything alone - asking for help inherently requires courage, wisdom, and growth. I’ve had my fair share of struggles with anxiety and depression as a teen. I didn’t ask for help for a long time. And when I eventually did seek help, it was the quickest catalyst for sustained growth and positive change. My relationships improved, my ability to effectively manage my emotions grew tremendously, and I developed a real sense of vitality. We are literally WIRED for connection with each other. When we ourselves open up to sharing our struggles, we often find that our feelings of connection, community, and belonging greatly increase.

My approach to coaching is rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Training.

I first learned of Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) in 2017 while working as a research coordinator on clinical behavioral health trials. Since then, ACT has become a major part of my lifestyle. I use the ACT skills DAILY in my personal life to cope with inevitable life tragedies effectively, fully enjoy the gifts that are right in front of me, and take action on creating the life I truly want.

Please know that I am a Certified Life Coach, NOT a licensed therapist. I use ACT in my coaching practice to help clients get ‘unstuck’ in their lives so that they can move forward with resilience, toward the lives they want. I am beyond grateful to have participated in numerous ACT and coaching trainings over the years, and continue to regularly participate in training events and conferences any chance I get. I am privileged to have my own mentors and coaches who help me grow professionally and personally and open my eyes to what I cannot yet see.

“I’m teary-eyed writing this because I have believed for so long that my worth depends on my success, but after working with you I have started to realize this is not true. I have been allowing myself to rest without judging and have felt more energized and motivated than I have for a long time. My anxiety has decreased, and I haven’t let anxious thoughts consume me. Above all, I have been making time to do the things I love.”
